Delta Children's Ballet Theatre
Presents
The Little Match Girl

Friday, December 9th - 7:30pm

Saturday, December 10th - 3:00pm

An East County holiday tradition since 1991, Delta Children’s Ballet Theatre presents its annual performance of The Little Match Girl.  A Hans Christian Andersen fairytale of a poor girl selling matches on a cold, snowy night, the little match girl strikes a match to warm herself.  She falls asleep and envisions images of the past and present, including a beautiful holiday party with familiar faces, food, and presents … even the doll and goose come to life.  The match burns out and so does the dream.  Surrounded by angels, she is embraced by her grandmother who takes her to a place where she is no longer hungry or cold.  A sad but beautiful story for the whole family that reminds us of all our blessings.
